We are thrilled to share the exciting news of the successful conclusion of the Liberia National Youth Power Summit 2024, an empowering event made possible through the collaborative efforts of GonetAfrica, SOS Children’s Villages Liberia, and generous support from KFW. This summit, which took place in partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Liberia, aimed to equip young people with essential skills in leadership, self-esteem, and public speaking—a vital foundation for personal and professional growth.
Empowering the Next Generation
Over the course of the summit, more than 48 enthusiastic young participants and youth co-workers immersed themselves in a transformative training program designed to enhance their leadership abilities and boost their confidence in public speaking. The sessions were not just about acquiring knowledge; they were about fostering a sense of empowerment and igniting a passion for positive change.
Celebratory Culmination
The summit’s closing ceremony was a memorable affair, graced by distinguished guests from various government ministries. We were honored to welcome esteemed figures such as Hon. Cole Bangalu, Minister of Youth and Sports; Hon. J. Bryant McGill, Deputy Minister for Youth Development; Hon. Kuta R. Gbakolay, Assistant Minister for Youth Development; and Hon. Garmai S. Tokpah, Deputy Minister for Children and Social Protection at the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection. Their presence underscored the government’s commitment to supporting youth development initiatives in Liberia.
